I'm really glad that it's going well. It's important to foster communication and good relations between KDE and Gnome (as well as other environments).

As for the desktop flame war -- well, I've always maintained that it was largely the users of the DE's, not the developers, that were propagating negative feelings and attitudes in online communities (especially forums). And that's still happening fairly often.

Even 3 or 4 years ago, I don't recall that many instances of developers from either camp being unreasonably hostile or defamatory. It was just more that they didn't interact or cooperate on projects very often.

Hurray for greater cooperation in the future, though. Looking forward to it.
