Facebook on your screensaver.

Having just moved to a new place (Helsinki) I don't really have that much to do yet. So what do I do on a Sunday afternoon? Lazy programming - that's what!

The goal: To have facebook on my screen saver.

The result: Any iPhone page on your screensaver.

Why? Because it's so much easier/faster to write than an actual facebook applet.

What is it? It's a QWebView that identifies itself as an iPhone, placed on Plasma. Configurable with different "phone themes", and select any page you want.

Where to get it? It's in SVN, under the plasma applets in Playground as kPhone

Have fun, and let me know what you think! :)

Would it be possible to make it look like just a normal plasma applet that used whatever theme was selected?

It's great, but it'd be nicer if it was consistent with the rest of my desktop.

Really cool stuff. :-)

Some idea's:
- be able to choose between plasmoid theme, and iPhone theme. (I think the second one needs to be default to make it look like an iPhone emulator).
- implement the iPhone home screen :p

Honestly it has nothing to do with iPhone. Facebook looks like that on Windows Mobile too. I would prefer a standard plasma theme.

Nice idea, but one critic:
I think kphone is no good name, as the plasmoid has nothing to do with a phone. Its just a browser identifying itself as iphone.
From the name i would think it is a phone application for sip/aix/pbx ...

A walled-garden appplication presented on one of the most restricting consumerdevices on the planet. Nice!
